The Vowel Puppies

Children will love this introduction to reading through the antics of the Vowel Puppies. Written by Reading Specialist Deb Evans, the story is based on reading science and creatively blends the Science of Reading with the Joy of Reading!

The Vowel Puppies is the book that started it all! Deb Evans had been teaching dyslexic and struggling readers for a decade and often used this charming story to teach her students about the clues that let you know which sound a vowel makes in a syllable. In 2022, she decided to write the story down and share it with a larger audience. In 2023, Deb published a 2nd edition of The Vowel Puppies featuring original art that she photographed. The Bella's Tales series was also published in 2023.

The Vowel Puppies is written for parents and caregivers to read to children, kindergarten through 3rd grade. When children understand the different syllable types and the clues that help them know which sound a syllable's vowels make, it unlocks reading for them! 

This is the first book in an upcoming series. The Vowel Puppies Teach the Parts of Speech and The Vowel Puppies Teach Creative Writing will be the next books in the series.
